Officer Board

Santa Barbara Women in STEM was founded in January 2018, and is continuously growing and expanding their network throughout Santa Barbara County.

Zoe found her way back to Santa Barbara after graduating from Cal Poly SLO with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. While working in the medical device industry since 2013 through internships and now full time, Zoe searched for professional groups in Santa Barbara geared toward women in STEM fields. After a significant amount of research, and gauging interest from friends, peers, and community members, Zoe realized there was a need for a Women in STEM community in SB, and hereby founded Santa Barbara Women in STEM. On a day-to-day basis, Zoe evaluates surgical imaging systems, and creates test setups and procedures for various medical devices. When she's not working or devoting her time to SBWiSTEM, you can find her teaching group fitness classes, dancing and singing alongside her friends at concerts, or volunteering for Planned Parenthood.

If you have any SBWiSTEM feedback, workshop or sponsorship requests, or just want to say hi, feel free to email Zoe directly at

jenna crawford, marketing lead

After obtaining a degree in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly, Jenna returned to her beloved hometown to obtain her California Real Estate Salesperson License, and began her career in real estate. Immediately after obtaining her license, she was hired by the number one real estate team in Montecito. She was hired as their Marketing and Transaction Coordinator where she managed website content from all sites of which their listings syndicated, manage their SEO/SEM campaigns, and  interpreted analytics of online marketing efforts to compile reports for clients. Later, she joined her family’s company, Shoreline Property Management, and now manages over 50 residential and commercial units in Santa Barbara County.

While at Cal Poly, Jenna became very involved with Engineers Without Borders, and traveled to Maejantai, Thailand to assess the civil portion of a micro-hydroelectric power generation system to provide the community with access to renewable and reliable electricity. While in Thailand, she also monitored the slow sand filtration water infrastructure.
